Welcome to NutriVision (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application.

By using NutriVision, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you disagree with any aspect, please stop using the App.

3.1 Information you provide directly

• Account data: email, password (stored encrypted), name
• Profile data: date of birth, gender, height, weight, physical activity level
• Health and nutrition data: medical conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.), dietary restrictions, hormonal cycle information (if you enable this feature), nutritional goals
• Usage records: meals consumed, hydration, recorded weight, food photos you voluntarily upload to the food scanner
• Chat conversations: messages you exchange with our AI-based nutritional assistant

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Technical data: device type, operating system and version, language, time zone, unique installation identifier
• Usage data: screens visited, features used, session duration, interaction events (via Firebase Analytics)
• Performance data: technical errors and app crashes to improve stability

3.3 Information we do NOT collect

• We do not access your contacts, messages, calls, or personal files outside the App
• We do not track your precise geographic location
• We do not sell your data to third parties under any circumstances

We use collected information exclusively to:

• Provide and maintain the App's functionality
• Personalize nutritional recommendations based on your profile
• Analyze food images using artificial intelligence
• Respond to your queries in the nutritional chat
• Send meal and hydration reminders (only if you enable notifications)
• Improve the App through aggregated usage analytics
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse
• Comply with legal obligations

5. Third-Party Services We Use

To operate NutriVision, we share specific data with the following providers, all with robust privacy policies:

5.1 Google Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase Authentication to manage your account, Firestore to securely store your data, Cloud Functions to process requests, and Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used in an aggregated and anonymous manner.

5.2 Anthropic (Claude AI)

The nutritional chat and food photo analysis features process your messages and photos through Anthropic's API (Claude). Anthropic does not use this data to train its models when accessed via API.

5.3 Expo (Expo Inc.)

We use Expo to manage push notifications and App updates.

5.4 Google Play Billing (future)

When we enable Premium subscriptions, payments will be processed by Google Play Billing. We do not store credit card data on our servers.

6. Data Storage and Security

• Location: your data is stored on Google Firebase servers located in the United States
• Encryption: all communications use HTTPS/TLS and passwords are stored encrypted (hashed)
• Access: only authorized personnel can access production systems
• Retention: we keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, unless required by law to retain certain records

7.1 Rights under GDPR (Users in the European Union and Switzerland)

If you reside in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights:

• Access: request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure: request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction of processing: restrict how we process your data
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, readable format
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Withdraw consent: when processing is based on your consent

7.2 Rights under CCPA (California Users)

California residents have the right to:

• Request deletion of their personal information
• Opt out of the sale of their information (note: NutriVision never sells personal data)

7.3 Rights of Latin American users

Users in Argentina (Law 25.326), Mexico (LFPDPPP), Colombia (Law 1581/2012), and other Latin American countries have equivalent rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition (ARCO).

7.4 How to exercise your rights

To exercise any right, write to privacy@nutrivisionlabs.com. We respond within 30 calendar days.

8. Minors

NutriVision is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you discover that a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete their information.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred and processed in the United States, where Firebase and Anthropic servers are located. We implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR (standard contractual clauses) to protect your data during these transfers.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an App notification. The "Last updated" date at the beginning of the document indicates when the latest modification was made.

11. Health Information - Important Notice

NutriVision provides general nutritional information for informational purposes. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. For any medical condition, always consult a qualified healthcare professional. We are not responsible for decisions made solely based on App recommendations.
